Second tree top ornment

This is my second try at that tree top ornament. I added an extra ring so it would fit in the ring better. Not sure where this one's going. Might just keep it.

Tree Top Ornament

I enjoyed this Tree Top Ornament from the book Tatting for Today by Marion T. Leyds. It's a fun book with lots of ornaments in it. My points didn't quite meet the ring. The next one I'm working on I added one more ring just below the clover on either side of the points. Hopefully it will reach better next time.
It's been three weeks today since I had retina surgery on my left eye. I had it checked on yesterday. The doctor says the retina is still well attached and my right eye looks like it's fine too. He says I need to wait about 4 more weeks before I will be able to see properly out of the left eye. So Christmas will still be visually impaired I'm afraid. Oh well, all in good time. I can still tat. :)

A few more snowdrops

I managed to have all but one of these finished before my retina surgery. I was able to finish the last purple one after the operation.

Painting

I've also been playing in the paint. This project was fun. I bought a black canvass and put green tape down where I wanted trees. After the background is painted then the tape is removed and the trees can be painted.

12 so far

So far I've got 12 snow drops finished. They are really fun to make. Saturday is my Christmas market. I know one is already spoken for. I hope the rest find people who like them as much as I do.

Dianes Ice Drops

These are Diane Cademartori's (Lace-Lovin' Librarian) beautiful ice drops. I'm enjoying making them up. Do I need to stiffen them? Also, do I need to put frosty sparkles on the white ones? I want them to be used for Christmas decorations.

More slippers

I'm still knitting away at slippers. I enjoy not having to think too much as I knit them.

Slippers

I had a lady at my last craft fair ask for men's slippers. I tried to find out what size she wanted, but she didn't know. I've taken a chance and made these in size 10 1/2. They are chunky yarn in a double strand. They were not easy to make as when I needed to decrease it was a lot of thickness to go through. So I'm wanting to get $15.00 for the yarn and my trouble. I hope someone will want them. I'll never do another pair like that. Too hard on the biceps. They should be nice and warm though.

More Bookmarks

I haven't tired of these yet. I enjoy the colors and those beady eyes.

Market last weekend

My market went quite well. There wasn't the turnout that was hoped for. I think part of that was because the craft fair was advertised as a trade fair and some people weren't interested in a trade fair as much as they might have been if they knew it was a craft fair.
I realized I need two tables now a days. I went back to our Ag society and paid for a second table. Now I can make more things and feel rest assured I'll have space.
I had two people ask for slippers. So when I'm done a few more bookmarks, I guess I'd better get the knitting needles out. I was so enjoying the tatting. I do want to make some of Lace-lovin-librarians lovely snowdrops. Hopefully I'll have time.
The Christmas market isn't until Nov 25. So I have two months.
I forgot to take some pictures of my tables. Oh well, I'll try to remember in Nov. No guarantees. My forgetter has been working overtime lately.
Well now I'm gonna look for a picture to post. I like seeing pictures.
Here's an object my husband picked up at the garage sale. I don't know what it is. I'm sure it's not for pitting cherries. I've sent it to Our Canada magazine to see if they'll publish it. Then maybe someone can tell me what it's for.

Five more hats

I got five more hats done. Mostly maple leafs. That makes it 18 hats for the market. I will try to remember to take pictures of my tables at the market. Or I guess it's a craft fair.

I still have this froggy on a card for sale. So I upgraded it a little with some water and cattails. I hope to sell it sometime. My husband wants me to draw a tongue coming out of the frogs mouth. I told him my frog was too polite to stick out his tongue in public. I've also been working on these woolly bookworms. They are fun and easy to make.

Maple leafs

These Maple leafs are so much fun to make. I hope to put one on a card and use the other two for caps. Less than two weeks to my first market of the year and so much to do.

some bookmarks

A couple weeks ago my husband and I went to a heritage days weekend down in southern Alberta. I had taken some tatting along and didn't want to just sit alone in our holiday trailer doing it. So I went to their craft fair and approached a lady with three tables of crocheting and some knitting for sale. I asked her if it would be ok if I sat with her and did my tatting. She was happy for the company, so for two afternoons we sat and did our crafts and had a wonderful time visiting, getting to know each other and talking about our favorite crafts.
By the second day she had rummaged through her stash and brought me several balls of lovely colored tatting thread. So, I promised I would make her a tatted cross. Still don't know which one to send.

I've made some new hats

I'm getting ready for a fall market next month. Do I have enough hats?? :)

Need some help

Can anyone tell me how to change the email address on my blog. I am soon to be canceling my other internet provider and haven't been able to make the email address change.
Thank you

Birch trees

I've been playing with some water color this week. We're still are doing a lot of traveling, as mom is still in the hospital 120 miles away. We are awaiting word about when she will be moved to a long term care facility and where.

Jane's bird

I put Jane's little birdie on a tree. I used water color pencils for the drawing. I'm pleased with the turnout.

Sorry not much happening

Well, I am working on Jane's TIAS. But, alas mom's back in the hospital. This time she's had a stroke. We've been staying at her home and driving back and forth to see her. She is improving some, but I really don't know how much she will improve. Next it's going to be meeting with her doctor to see what kind of long term care and where she will go.
