Rainbow Splash Bookmark

Well, there's the new Lizbeth "Rainbow Splash" in a bookmark. I love the colors. They are so bright and colorful. I made this while camping over the weekend.
I think I nagged Handy Hands for nearly a year to convince them to make it.

More Jane's Bookamarks

These were revamped into crosses by Grace Tan. I enjoy making them. The one on the left, I made a mistake at the bottom, so I just made the same one on the top.

Purple and Black Bookmark

This spiral bookmark was a special order. A lady who bought my black and white spiral bookmark wanted one with black in it for her daughter. I wasn't supposed to make it black and white though. She wanted her black and white one to be exclusively her own. I haven't blocked it yet. But I am happy with how the colors turned out.

This is what I got done while camping the past two weekends.  Both camping excursions included tractor pulls. My husband loves tractor pulls. I'd rather watch paint dry. So, I was very happy to stay at our trailer and tat. The spiral bookmark on the right side gave me some grief. I had made the whole thing and then realized that the first two rings were hooked up wrong to the next clover. Ahhhhh!. I was able to pick them out (backwards) and remake them. Not so easy when there was no picot to hook them to. But, I sure will be a lot more vigilant next time.

Butterfly and Snowflake hats

Got some more hats ready for today's market. I got the butterfly from Sarah Wood. It's a graph and was a little erroneous. But, I got it figured out. I utilized the split chain and ring methods. Always good practice for me. The white hat is a snowflake from Jon Yusoff's patterns. My thread is Lizbeth,Spring Garden.

Bits and Pieces

I spent last week at my mom's, about 120 miles north. She is 90 and still lives on her farm. The only animals she has are a few stray cats that have adopted her. Why not, the food's good. I only had a couple balls of thread with me. Something I will take note to rectify on the next visit. Anyway, I puttered away with what I had for colors. The two snowflakes are from Jon Yusoff's patterns. It all will someday brandish a cap.
Tonight is Farmers Market, but right now, (9:00a.m.) it's raining. I hope it will stop by early afternoon.

More hair pretties

I got more done. The do make up fast.

Flower barrettes

I made these and glued them to  barrettes. The pattern is on In Tatters under new ways to use tatting. On the last page.

Curtain tie backs

I recently bought some new curtains. While on vacation, I worked on tie backs for them. Here's one done.

Two more caps

I got two more hats done for Farmers Market.

More crosses

Here are two more crosses. This time I had trouble remembering the two side by side split rings near the end. I had to cut off the second half and redo it on one. The other I had to cut and tie a bit and then could continue.

More Bookmarks

The cross bookmark is made from a pattern from the two Janes. Can't wait to make more of those. The colors show up so nice.

I plan to put this one on a hat with the braid. It's Queen of Hearts of "Tatting with Visual Patterns" by Mary Konior. The thread is Lizbeth Raspberry Frazzle.

Two Jane's bookmark

I've been having lots of fun making this. I had to share before I'm even done. It's from Jane Eborall and Jane McLellan. They got it from a Anna Burda magazine in 1984. I'm planning to put it on a cap rim. It's Lizbeth #20 Raspberry Frappe.

I made another Seahorse. This time I followed the wing pattern backwards, so I could attach it first and then continue the wing.

Big Fun

I just received this neat book from Singapore. It's a great instructional book for beginners, plus it has some cute patterns that I can't wait to try. They also sent me this adorable clover leaf bookmark. I am delighted.

Big Spinning Wheel

I've had this in my head to try for a long time. It's Mary Konior's glass mat, only I added to the length of the rows. The thread is a Cro Sheen #10. It isn't singed, so it took some extra care not to make mistakes. But I did anyway.
Kudos to Martha for making her progressing spinning wheel. That's the inspiration I needed.

This really is mat #8. I'd made #7 the same colors as #6, so I didn't put it in.

Pastel Bunny gets a garden

Pastel needed a nice spring garden patch to enjoy. Today he goes to a dear friend. She loves bunnies and has a collection of them. I wrote a little poem inside.
When you're feeling lonely, when you're feeling blue. Look at little bunny and know I pray for you.

My girlfriend wants a bunny. She asked for a variegated one. I have lots of #10 crochet cotton laying about. This is made from Cro-Sheen. It doesn't like to slide very well. I used plenty of Thread Heaven.

OH OH !!

Oh oh, in true bunny fashion, they're multiplying. The one on the far left has a larger bead nose. I like it better.

The color is Lizbeth #115, Springtime.

Two Little Funny Bunnies

Theses two little cuties are from Two Shuttles. Designed by WIKI fasclnata.blox.pl. I thought they were so cute, I just had to give them a try. I tried two different things for the nose. One worked better than the other. I'm already making a third one.

Pram #3

Here's Jane's pram in pink. One of the ladies in my knitters group knew she'd be wanting one on a card, but didn't know yet if she'd need pink or blue. Frankly, I like the variegated. But they're all cute.

Martha Ess' Butterfly

This is from Martha Ess' Green butterfly. Very fun to make.

Little Bo Peep

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep, and doesn't know where to find them.
Leave them alone and they'll come home.
Dragging their tails behind them.

Jane's puppy, Spud

Here's Jane's cute puppy, Spud. He looks much better now that I've blocked him up. I tried to put him with Crinoline Lady and have him pose as a sheep. But he wasn't pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. Crinoline lady will be along shortly, as Little Bo Peep. And she can't find her sheep or a puppy.

 I whipped this little guy up today. It was fun.

Rainbow-licious

I finally got my rainbow-licious today, from Tatilicious. It's size 20. I think it's soooo pretty. Can't wait to make something with it.

Glass mat #5

This one went much easier. I finally got used to the pattern and learned to check on myself once in awhile. I did have to pick some out, but didn't have to cut and tie. It's made with Lizbeth # 129 Purple Splendor and # 624 Raspberry Pink Med.

Glass mat #4

I adore these little glass mats. (Mary Konior's Tatting With Visual Patterns). I still have a struggle getting them done correctly as my concentration isn't always up to par. But I haven't quit.

Baskets

Handy Hands puts out a catalog that has this little basket pattern in it. I traced the basket on to cards and then colored them. Then I tatted all the little flowers. The flowers are quick and fun to make.

Prams on cards

My ladies "knitters" group likes my prams on greeting cards. I think I may be getting a call or two for these. Gotta get on some extra pink and blue.

Here's glass mat #3. I still struggle to get it right. But I don't concentrate as well as it always requires. I do love the pattern though.

This one's been sitting for quite a while. I finally got it glued together today. It's another one with the lights in the front of it.

I've put this in a picture frame. I hope those cute butterflies (found in Jane's blog) have completed the ensemble.

Day 4 of TIAS

OK here's day 4. I used the Catherine Wheel joins. It was good practice. This join makes me think of the way we do split chains. It's Marie's fast and easy technique. It's on Jane's blog.

Bits and Pieces

Here's my TIAS day 3. I am improving. My first day, I misunderstood the Fp so that day is a bit of a mess. But, rather than start again I imagine I might be making more mistakes, so I'll just keep going. Always a great learning experience.

Then, last night I attended our knitters group, (we call it knitters but we do all kinds of crafts) Our group makes items for an orphanage in Romania.  One of our ladies works in a second hand store. She found this shuttle and some patterns and a roll of white #20 thread. She thought I'd like to have it, so she brought it for me. I tried this humungous Tatsy shuttle. Too awkward. I found it interesting, but I doubt I'll ever use it. It felt to big and I really like a hook in the end of my shuttle. 

And lastly. Here's a little fun thing I often like to try in mid January. Did you know with a little patience, you can stand an egg on its thicker end. Only in January. And your counter has to be level. This might only be in the northern hemisphere. But it works.
