TIAS day 9

I don't have much selection for beads. So my poor guy has a gold nose. I still think he's cute.

Heart's Desire

This heart was designed by Susan K Fuller and diagrammed by Frivola. I'm pretty pleased with the turn out, as the first one I tried was so bad, I threw it out.

greeting card and visor

Here's a little greeting card I put together. It's from Irene Woo's patterns.
Also below is my last cap for awhile. Or visor as the case may be.

TIAS day 8

Well I actually picked the last two rows out, because they looked funny. Lock joins are a bearcat to remove. I was glad to see some other day #8's posted. It gave me a better concept. So, there she be.

Butterfly and Heart

I had trouble photographing this hat. Where it looks like the thread is white, it's actually a nice light turquoise. It's Lizbeth # 106. The heart is Irene Woo's design called Butterfly Heart. And the butterflies are a design from Monica Mancenido.

Just a Little Thingy

I was making wings for my Christmas angel, when at the end, I discovered a mistake. My girlfriend still liked it, so she said if I'd finish it (however), she'd take it. This color combination was my first from HH, and it's still my favorite.

LADY "BAA BAA"

TIAS

I'm a little embarrassed to submit my TIAS. I've seen the others, and they're nice. Mine is a little sloppy. But, I've learned a couple new techniques, anyway.
Also, I broke the plastic hook on one shuttle. Rough old bird, I am.

More Beaded Snowflakes

Jane will be so proud of me. I got right beady with these. I'm still tatting snowflakes for gifts. I wanted to have these ready for my aqua size instructor and another for a good friend, who admires my tatting.

A tatting from a long time ago

This is a tatted, large, doily I did as a Christmas present years ago for my mother-in-law. When she passed away, I got it back. I need to take a better picture of it. But it needs some pressing. It was a lot of work, because I made lots of mistakes that I had to cut out and redo.

First Bauble

My first bauble. This one took me lots of time, as I wasn't comprehending the pattern very well. It's from Janet Carrol's "Elegant Tatting Patterns"

some new Christmas ornaments

I finally got these done and stiffened. I put some frosty sparkle on them too. The bell is my first try at adding beads. The three kira's stars are for a woman who wants them for her three daughters.

First Effort at Beaded Tatting

This is my first try at adding beads to a tatting. I was in a waiting room for part of the time. I was concerned that I'd make a mistake, but managed ok. She was one of the first items to sell from my farmers market table on Nov 19/11.

Nancy Price's bookmark

This fun bookmark come from Nancy Price. I used #20 cotton. I should have made it a little smaller as she used #40. Oh well, I learned something anyway.

These little cuties are in the latest Handy Hands newsletter. Fall 2011. They are earrings by Kendra Goodnow. Only, I made them into zipper pulls. They are for my mom as she struggles with those tiny zipper pulls on her coats.

New bookmarks

The pink bookmark is Bree's pattern. I never did find out how she did it in one piece, but it came together. The other two belong to Rachel. I do like that pattern. And the variegated thread from Lizbeth.

They show up better with red behind them. I painted them with iridescent, frosty, sparkle. Wish it would show up. These are for hanging on a tree.

sparkly snowflakes

There, they show up better with red behind. Wish the sparkles showed up

tatted small cross

I liked making this little cross. The design is from Rachel. xstchntat.

The bottom snowflake, I made so long ago, I don't know where the pattern came from. It's been sitting for years. The top one was supposed to be just a triangle. It hadn't met by three points, so I kept going. I like it.

I got this idea from a book in a little store in Calgary. I've made some changes. It was a little experiment. Not sure I like it that much.

flower bookmark

Finally got this put together. Now that I know how, I like it and plan to make more.
I've pulled a muscle in my leg, so I've had lots of time to tat while I sit on my massage seat. Only goes to show, I should be tatting instead of working in the garden. he he.

I've made two new tats for cards. The apple is from Mark Myers, thank you Mark. It was fun to make. I glued it to a green card.
The water can is a design from Jane Eborall, thank you Jane. I appreciate that people have posted their patterns. I added a little flower to the can. Notice the water coming out?
