Pearl Butterfly

Ooops, I didn't realize until day light that I used two different shades of white. This is from Shabby Chick Tatting by Rozella F. Linden. It's the only thing I've made from her book. I didn't include pearls. The pattern is hard to understand and has errors that I have to figure out. Poorly written in my opinion.

bow and bells

I saw this on line. I regret I do not know who did it first. It's a gift for a dear friend. Can't wait to give it to her.

Snowman and Angel

These are little gifts for family and friends. The snowman's hat is from Jane Eborall's patterns.

We Three Angels

I made these by special request for a friend who likes to give her daughter purple ornaments in groups of three. Last year was those dark purple bells. I'm glad she gave me permission to use variegated. I love variegated threads and yarns. I think I have a color addiction.

My Christmas Sweater

Couldn't help myself. I just had to buy this ugly Christmas sweater for the Christmas farmers market. Walt-Mart special. I thought it might be cold, like last year, so I wore a knitted dickey with it. Didn't need it this year, it was off within the first hour.

Some baubles

I got two baubles made this year. They're both sold. One is from Renulka I used her pattern for the sides and another for the top. I added some extra rows. Wish I hadn't done that now. Oh well. What can ya do. The other is a snowflake pattern that fit nicely on top of a smaller ball.

Another tree

This one was white thread with a frosty filament embedded in it. I put gold sparkle paint on it.

new halo beads

I found some cute new halo beads for the angels.
I'm still playing with two different threads for the snowflakes. Jane has just posted a new snowflake a bit similar to this one. I can't wait to give it a try.

Finished tree

Sorry, it's a little blurry. My daughter gave me the idea to put the colored beads on each join. Then I put a little star in the middle of the top bit. I'm happy with the way it turned out (now).

Heavenly hoast and a snowflake

The angel on the lower right is Lizbeth Blue Ice and Arctic waters tied together. the rings were one and the chains the other. I like how the color scheme worked out. The snowflake in the middle is one from Jan Stawsz's book.

Jan Stawasz's Christmas tree.

Here's my first try on Jan Stawasz's Christmas tree. I used #10 gold with a strand of gold metallic incorporated in it. So....should I glue on some colored beads? Or is it finished as it is?

Snowflake in a ball

I got this idea from a fellow tatter a few years back. I only made one. This year I bought a pack of 6 of these glass balls from Hobby Lobby. Then found the bows and little snowflakes at Micheal's recently.

Christmas ornaments

Having a ball with the Christmas ornaments. The tree in the middle is my first try at a Jan Stawasz's creation. The book arrived a couple days ago. I had a couple false starts, so I went with some thread I have an abundance of. It's a size 30, not 10 like he used. The two on the top left and right are Betsy Evans. I like the nice points.
The bottom right is one I bought from Etsy. It's from Romana Stelmach. And I'm still making Eileen Stafford's angles. I added a 3rd row and put some beads on the bottom halo and wing tips. I made it ruffly.
The two in the middle outer edge are Lene Bjorn's 24 Snowflakes in Tatting, Eleventh day of December. And The top middle is the same book..the fifth day of December.
Last is the bottom left. That was a error. I was trying to make the eleventh day of Dec. and made a mistake. Rather than throw it out, I just continued and finished it the was it was going.
I sold two angels while at my mother's place, so now I get to make more of those. So, more to come.

Snowflakes and Angels

The angels are Leen's Angels, designed by Eileen Stafford. I added a third row. I learned a lesson from the angel on the left. Don't put too large of beads on her halo. It made her head rather big. I put beads on the bottom of the skirt on the second one. That turned out ok.
The snowflakes are from Le Flocon Frivole at www.leblogdefrivole.blogspot.com they are great fun with their little Josephine knots. I like how the points stand out.

More Christmas things

Here are some more Christmas ornaments. The snowflake is from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn. There are 79 beads around the outside. I'll never do that again. It's pretty but very work intensive. The trees are Be-Stitched. I wish the sparkles would show up.

Snowflake creationg

I haven't stiffened this yet. It started out as Renulek's tat away. But, now I've added another ring to it. I hope to put it in a clear Christmas ball. I will post more as I go.

Christmas Trees

I painted these with sparkle. But it doesn't show up. Gotta go to Micheal's and get more red beads. Having great fun making these.

Jane's croc

This is Jane Eborall's little crocodile. He was very fun to make. Mine turned out having a very open mouth. I guess he's getting ready to bite someone. When I was working on him, I was at Farmers market. I didn't have a bead with me for his eye. I had tried to use a snipped off piece of coffee stir stick. But it didn't show up so good. So, I've given him a google eye. He looks a little friendlier this way. I don't know yet how I'll use him. Maybe on a hat or maybe on a card. Don't know.

Workin' on Autum and Christmas

I've made a few maple leafs and one decorated Christmas tree. The leafs are on cards. It was my daughter's idea to punch out some colored paper leafs and glue them on. It helped to fill in dead space. The tree is from Be-Stitched. I hope to make a bunch of them for Christmas market.

More Bookmarks

I'm still playing with bookmarks. I'm enjoying the Lizbeth rainbow splash. It is nice and bold.

Christmas Tree

Well my scanning job doesn't do it justice. This tree is from Be-Stitched. It's made with Lizbeth Blue Ice and I painted it with some sparkle. It's gonna take a trip to the other side of the planet. To Australia.

2 bookmarks

I've sold a few bookmarks at farmers market. So, I'm happy to report, I'm tatting again. This pattern was designed by Rachel Mohler. xstcjmtat. The threads are Lizbeth. I'm working on another.

I haven't been totally idle

Well, long time no hear on my part. My DH and I spent the month of June on vacation. We hit Montana, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington in the USA and then British Columbia. We had a wonderful time and the highlight was a bus tour of San Francisco.
My hubby has braved many cities in the USA but Frisco was not going to be one of them. However, we found a nice KOA north of there, Petaluma. We were told they gave bus tours as long as there were 6 people wanting to go. We had enough, so off we went for the day. What a lovely tour we had. It was a full day of all the hot spots. We even had lunch at Fisherman's Wharf. And took a walking tour of China Town. What an interesting city. We saw lots of Alcatraz from the mainland. We did not tour the prison as there's a two month wait to see it. We only saw Lombard Street from a block away, as the residents are tired of hearing tour buses going through their block so we could only look up at it from a distance. We did ride a cable car over Noble hill and ate a sourdough bread bowl filled with clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. It was a very good day.
I was not idle in my crafting this holiday. I had started a crocheted pot holder, but it started cupping and I didn't know what to do to fix it. So, I unraveled some of it and gave it to my mom. She likes it. So, off we went to Walmart and I got a great bargain on Peaches and Cream cotton. Those are on the top of the picture.
Then, we were at Hobby Lobby and I found something I'd never seen before. It's called "I Love this Cotton." It's a product made for Hobby Lobby. It's very soft and nice to knit. Those are on the bottom of the picture. I need to get back to tatting, but I've found this new (to me) dish cloth pattern very relaxing. The pattern doesn't have the yarn over near the end. I don't like yarn overs, I don't do them well. This pattern just has an increase the second stitch in on each row until you start reducing. Then on the third and forth stitch you knit them together.

I have done two farmers markets since returning from our 4 week vacation. So, hopefully I'll get myself back on track at some point. Guess that's what summers for, getting off track.

What's new

I did a couple heart cards. Not sure which one will go to mom yet.
I got a cap done. A little extreme, but there are those of us out there. Also, crochet Irish roses with a little tatted flower in the center and then a bead or sequence in the very center. They are glued to barrettes for little girls to wear. I hope they'll sell.
Here's a pic of some deer that decided that the shade of our front yard would be a nice place to rest. There were 4 of them. I had to take the picture through the dining room window. It's a bit dusty as we live on a dirt road.

Last Two for Now

These will be the last for a while. I don't like crocheting or knitting in warm weather. These will go to an orphanage.

Another baby blanket

Here's another. It's made with different yarn than the last one. Having a bad time getting the colors to show up as they are. But this one's not too bad.

Treats from India

I love getting fun things in the mail. Tatting things especially. These two Pony shuttles came from India. She also included a nice note and a heart key chain. How fun. I got these on Ebay with free shipping. I couldn't help myself.

I've finished another baby afghan. I figured out I wouldn't have enough of the variegated yarn, so I put a white stripe in the center. This pattern starts in one corner and you keep increasing. Then decrease after the middle.

Another afghan

The colors didn't turn out as they really are. But here's another baby afghan. I enjoyed the pattern.

Another granny ripple afghan

I've just finished another granny ripple afghan. This one is much longer. I had lots of yarn to use up. Still there is more. I had hoped the lavender ripple would last just long enough to complete it, but, alas it did not and I had to buy another ball. Oh my. My yarn drawers are still teaming.

TIAS

Jane's TIAS complete. These are sooo cute. I thought they'd be nice on a greeting card for a quilter.

Ripple and Granny Square baby blanket

There I'm finished that one. It's not very big but big enough for a trial run. I'm hoping to make a full size one now. Yep, I'm crazy.

Crazy for color

Here's my current project. I finished the baby afghan above while I was staying with my mom. The one below is a work in progress.
My son's girlfriend fosters dogs until they are adopted. This little guy came from California. I thought he might be cold having come from that warmer climate. So I gave him a doggie sweater I made a few years ago. He seems to be contented with it. He's a little wired haired terrier cross. I'm told he has a new home now.

My mom is feeling much better. Fortunately she didn't  break her leg. She did have 2 weeks in hospital having physio after the fall she'd had. She is home now and getting meals on wheels and has a very nice housekeeper.

TIAS Day 10

Well, there's day 10 of Jane's TIAS. Now it looks like a little person. With a button in his belly.

Monday, 19 January 2015

TIAS day 5

Well...I haven't a clue. Jane has us scratching our heads again. What fun.

vest project

Whew, I'm home at last. I've been up at my mom's. Poor dear fell over an electric cord and damaged her leg. She is finally in the hospital and hoping some physio will help her to walk again. Here's the project I worked on while there. I just need to sew the sides of the vest together.
