Two more kittens and a bunny

I've enjoyed this pattern. I even figured out how to put long ears and a fluffy tail on more for a bunny. I still like the flower kittys best.

Still having Fun

The top is a kitten design from Dotori. I bought it on Etsy. I thought today that it would be cute with a little bow on it's neck.
Next is the first pair of earrings I've ever done. The pattern is the first section from Jane's bookmark.
The third picture is another sea horse. They are always fun and when I don't feel like having to concentrate it's simple to whip up.

Keeping busy

I have lots of pictures to show. I've been having loads of fun tatting and painting. The top is the finished snowflakes in a flat glass ball.
The next was a fun experiment. I had rescued a bunch of beads that had the look of rocks. Silly but fun. Then there's the old 65 year old still silly enough to wear Christmas ornaments in her ears for our annual art club Christmas party. It was a fun night.
The purple bells (yes they're purple) is an annual thing I do for a friend. She likes to give her daughter 3 purple ornaments every Christmas.
The last is my latest art class. It was a wintry night, so not all the students showed up and I got lots of advice. Just got the frame on it this morning.  It was hard to photograph as there were lots of other lights reflecting on the glass.

More Christmas trees

I'm experimenting with Christmas trees. Trying to decide which is easiest to make. I think the middle one. I painted sparkle on the white ones and the middle one is metallic thread.

Christmas Bells

This scan didn't turn out very well. This design is from Eva Antonucci. I used Lizbeth metallic. I added little jingle bells to the bottom. I'm working on some other metallic Christmas decorations. But I do like this pattern. More later.

Wednesday 11 September 2019

I've been making sets of these for wine glass coasters. I hope to attend our Christmas  Farmers Market this November. I missed out last year because of an emergency retina surgery. So this year I'm all heped up to try again. I'm also working on colorful bookmarks. I'll show them next time.

Runner Finished

It took me 3 months but I finally finished this dresser runner. It's from Tatting Theory and Patterns by Jan Stawasz.

Sandy's Scarf

This is from the Helping Hands Winter 2019 news letter. I just kept going as it was designed to actually be a scarf. I had planned on a 5 foot runner for my buffet. It's a lot of tatting. Then at an estate sale last week I found a crocheted runner. So here's where I ended with this project. It will get used someplace.

Butterfly and tulip garden

I've been dabbling in Gouache paint. I like having watercolor paint that I can put a light color over dark if I need to. I've tatted a bunch of butterflies to play in the flower garden.

Here are the newest cards I've made. They will be in the art show and sale tomorrow and Sunday. I hope they'll be a hit.

Tuesday 19 March 2019

Did these sunflowers in art class recently.
Also been making Renulek's Easter eggs for cards. I'll post more later on.
And I was given this. If you turn the knob the little spikes slide in. It says Daisy Knitter. Does anyone know how to use it?

I've Been Published

Hey, hey. I've been published in the Our Canada magazine for the month of March. Also my little mug shot is in the index on pg 5. I hope this will help people understand tatting a little better. I like the article. Yes I wrote it and they tweeked a bit. Found that funny.

Oak Tree

Here's what I've been working on for the past 3 weeks.

Sun catchers

I've been playing with some more sun catchers. The very top one is actually Lizbeth blue ice, but it doesn't show up on the picture.
I've also found that some of the centers from Jan Stawasz books make nice sun catchers as well.
I'm all out of #20 white crochet cotton. I went to lots of stores but no one had #20. I finally sent for some on Amazon. It's Aunt Lydia's and if you by $35.00 worth the shipping is free. They were on for $3.29 Cdn a ball.
